Application Engineer

  • Hybrid
    • Delft, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands
  • €3,800 - €4,200 per month
  • Product Development

Job description

At VSParticle we are passionate about innovation in nanotechnology for meaningful purposes. From our office in Delft, the Netherlands, we designed and developed a portfolio of Nanoparticle Generation and -Printing systems. Our current systems are research tools, allowing university researchers and R&D teams across the world to create new materials 10 times faster as with conventional systems! These new material combinations form the basis of revolutionary solutions for highly relevant applications, such as green hydrogen production and sensors for air quality measurements.

We are looking for a dedicated Application Engineer to join our growing Product Development team! The main focus of this role will be on the VSP-P1 (Nanoparticle printer) that we currently sell to different customers around the world. While doing so, we are receiving valuable feedback from customers operating in a great variety of research fields that we need to understand and implement in our next-generation printers. As an Application Engineer at VSParticle, one of your main responsibilities will be to have a good understanding of the customers' needs (and application requirements) and the capability to translate this into a valuable feature or product by providing support and performing validation during the product development cycle. Therefore, a deep understanding of the nanoparticle process and the working principle of the VSP-P1 machine is also must.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and meet customer needs.
  • Assess technical feasibility and design solutions.
  • Support experimental projects and collaborations.
  • Assist in translating requirements and designing systems.
  • Manage feasibility studies and develop prototypes.
  • Ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Mentor new team members.
  • Provide technical expertise in customer meetings and demos.
  • Conduct training sessions.
  • Create manuals and validate processes.
  • Offer in-depth technical support and share knowledge.

Job requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in chemistry or physics.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic programming skills (Python).
  • Familiarity with hardware and project management.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-oriented and effective communicator
  • Team player

Why should you join VSParticle?

We are a fast-growing scale up where you can contribute to revolutionize materials development, enabling researchers to find solutions for some of the largest planetary challenges (e.g., green hydrogen production, fuel cell development). We are based in a modern office with multiple labs in the centre of Delft, but also offer possibilities for hybrid work.

We have a non-hierarchical organisational structure with a diverse and international group of colleagues. You can join the daily free lunch and participate to the regular social events we organize. Next to a good salary, we offer participation in our pension scheme, 30 holidays, travel allowance, a personal development budget and the possibility to lease a bicycle (yes, we are a Dutch company 😊).
