At VSPARTICLE we are passionate about innovation in nanotechnology for meaningful purposes. We are a fast-growing scale up where you can contribute to revolutionize materials development, enabling researchers to find solutions for some of the largest planetary challenges. From our office in Delft, the Netherlands, we designed and developed a portfolio of Nanoparticle Generation and -Printing systems. Our current systems are research tools, allowing university researchers and R&D teams across the world to create new materials 10 times faster as with conventional systems! These new material combinations form the basis of revolutionary solutions for highly relevant applications, such as green hydrogen production and gas sensors. Our tools are also the robust foundation for self-driving labs. Beyond developing next generation research modules, we are also working towards an industrial scale machinery system to target the electrolyzer market.
We are looking for a dedicated Software Engineer to join our growing Product Development team! The main focus of this role will be to develop, test, and maintain software alongside the other engineers of the software team. As an Software Engineer at VSPARTICLE, one of your main responsibilities will be to work with other software engineers and interface with other teams at the company on a technical level.
Responsibilities:
Codes backend, frontend, tools and other custom software used by the company.
Tests developed software to ensure software does what is expected of it.
Maintains developed software to ensure it will keep working overtime, including documentation.
Designs architecture for software to ensure it will remain maintainable over time.
Reviews and discusses code, solutions and implementations by other engineers.
Plays a role in the Agile workflow.
Mentors interns and team members in their technical work.
Researches software frameworks that may improve the quality and extensibility of code.
Looks for opportunities to better use developed software in the company.
Takes ownership of (sub) projects in software.
Job requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
Degree in computer engineering or other technical field with at least Bachelor or HBO-equivalent,
3+ years software engineering
Strong affinity with natural sciences
Affinity with working in an Agile work environment
Coding and scripting, especially in Python, C/C++
Coding practices, especially object-oriented programming
Testing, especially test automation
Software engineering tools: Git, GitLab, VSCode, Puppet
Analytical & reasoning skills; ability to visualize processes and outcomes
Communication skills in English
Attention to detail
Able to work on multiple topics simultaneously
Problem solving
Team player
